This cutter got her name from a small beach in Brittany near Lorient. The Perello was designed by Jean Michel Viant, a well known naval architect from La Trinite sur Mer. There are two choices of construction for this boat either clinker built, with a very traditional look, or built with strip planking, which gives it a smoother look. Larch is used for both types of construction. The clinkers are glued and fastened with copper rivets. We have two possibilties for the sails, 19M2 with one main and 2 jibs or 12 m2 with one main and one jib. |
